This Black History Month, join Detroit City Historian Jamon Jordan and acclaimed pianist Alvin Waddles for an evening that blends history, music, and reflection at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.
Now in its fourth year, the City Historian’s annual Black History Month Lecture explores Detroit’s deep roots of resistance and resilience. Through storytelling and live performance, this year’s program highlights how Black communities have met injustice with courage, creativity, and collective action—and why those lessons still matter today.
